I am a Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Apprentice. My role involves supporting the organisation’s commitment to responsible business practices, sustainability, and positive social impact. On a day-to-day basis, I assist with a range of activities including helping to gather and analyse data on environmental and social performance, supporting reporting requirements, and contributing to projects linked to sustainability, community engagement, and responsible business initiatives.
I also work closely with colleagues across different teams to help ensure policies and initiatives are implemented effectively, and I support the coordination of internal and external communications where required. Alongside my day-to-day responsibilities, my role includes learning and development through my apprenticeship, allowing me to build practical experience while developing my knowledge of corporate responsibility, sustainability, and governance.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I would recommend the FCA to a friend because it offers strong support for learning and professional development. There are a wide range of learning opportunities available, including structured training, apprenticeships, and ongoing development programmes that help individuals build their skills and confidence. Colleagues and managers are supportive and encouraging, creating an environment where learning is valued and people are supported to grow in their roles. The FCA also provides opportunities to gain meaningful experience while developing both technical knowledge and wider workplace skills, making it a great place to learn and progress.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Financial Conduct Authority (FCA)?
My main tip would be to take time to understand the FCA’s purpose and values and be clear on why they matter to you. Showing genuine interest in the organisation’s role and how it makes a difference really helps your application stand out. I would also recommend highlighting your willingness to learn and develop, as the FCA places a strong emphasis on learning, growth, and supporting people at all stages of their career. Finally, be yourself and draw on your own experiences, whether from education, work, or volunteering, to show the skills and behaviours you can bring to the role.
