Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
So far, my CIPD Level 5 apprenticeship has been very enjoyable. I have found the content very useful and practical alongside my day-to-day role as a HR Manager, supporting my practical application with good-grounded theory. I have a great tutor who is honest, supportive and funny and my fellow cohort are a great bunch of people.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
So far I am loving it! Not too overbearing and it fits in very well with my day-to-day role, as I have guaranteed time to focus on my studies. My managers are invested in my studies and are supportive. As said my fellow apprentices are lovely and we all get on really well and support one another.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
I think for a colleague who is brand new to an organisation, this is absolutely perfect. It builds up learning in a great and simple way that supports those from all backgrounds. As I have been working for a few years now, a lot of the skills and knowledge I feel I already have. But I am definitely learning new things that are widely applicable that I naturally wouldn't, such as about upcoming HR legislation changes. I am fully enjoying it nonetheless.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Very well structured and easy to follow, with deadlines been clearly communicated in advance and support given on how to achieve core milestones.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My apprenticeship is baked into my day-to-day role and my managers are incredibly supportive, and take a vested interest.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Plenty! It's a good balance between being taught everything I need to know for each module I am learning, and good breadth for me to go away and think about things. I've never felt left out to dry and everything feels relevant.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
Again likely due to my tenure in the working world I am yet to see this, however it must be said for those who are younger/newer to work I can see how beneficial this apprenticeship would be for budding HR individuals
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
I haven't attended any myself but I am aware of them

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Lloyds Banking Group to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I have been here for ~7 years and have stayed for good reason. I love the culture, I love what HR is here to do and I love seeing the changes LBG is enacting. It's a great company to work for and incredibly vast, allowing for multiple future career opportunities. The financial rewards are very complinentary as are wider elements of the reward package. And I love who I work with!
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Lloyds Banking Group?
Be super clear on what LBG cares about and what it's here to do, to Help Britain Prosper. Be super clear on why you are applying and what you feel you could bring; new ideas and ways of thinking are always appreciated!
