Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I care for babies and toddlers in the baby room of the Nursery. Personal care and playing, supporting their learning and development using the EYFS. I observe the children's behaviour and help staff with assessments.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

The course is helpful and enjoyable, the teaching is well structured and the tutors are kind and understanding.

Yes I have learnt more about health and safety, safeguarding, policies, child development and how to become an Early Years Practitioner.

There are frequent sessions alongside the normal work routine which is helpful to cover and break up the curriculum.

Would you recommend Puffins of Exeter to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I would recommend Puffins to a friend because the company are big enough to uphold professionalism but small enough to not let standards slip like a national Nursery company. Puffins is also a nice employer, they provide a self care day and additional benefits. The training sessions are always positive and caring, they do genuinely care about their staff.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Puffins of Exeter?
I would call their number and apply for a recruitment session instead of waiting for an advertisement, if you want to do less than the standard 4 days a week it may be difficult but they may be understanding of your circumstances like they were with me. Apply for a rolling DBS check.
