I am a business administrator working for the PPASB team, tackling emails in our inbox and creating cases for myself or allocating them for relevant officers. I also take minutes in our meeting, handle other admin work such as writing and posting letters etc.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

It is well structured and I am able to follow up with my apprenticeship role while working as an admin

I have improved my communication skills and confidence in taking initiative in this role etc. I have learned new skills such as customer service (talking to customers on the phone etc)

Why?
The organisation sharpened the skills I already had and expanded it further. I am learning a lot more about the community when working for a public sector organisation and it inspires me to work hard to create a much safer and welcoming community. My apprenticeship contract enables me to explore different teams and gain wider experience.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to City of Lincoln Council?
Be willing to experience things - explore and speak to as much people as you can within the company as you will learn a lot from people especially if they have had been in the field for years. Use the skills you already have and apply it. But also enjoy your apprenticeship period while it lasts.
