Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role within my apprenticeship has provided all the skills needed for the qualification, whilst having the independence to complete tasks, analyse data, write reports, consult with the residents of Lincoln, have involvement in Local Government Reorganisation and support with Policy changes.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I've had an excellent experience with the enjoyment of my programme, being able to build transferrable skills to carry with me for life and network with stakeholders to build relationships and trust. I've had support throughout my apprenticeship where needed which helps with the enjoyment.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have gained many transferrable skills as working in the Public Sector in Local Government is a huge change from previous work in the Private Sector. I was able to develop my previous skills in Customer Service whilst delivering public consultations, apprenticeship workshops and presentations.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is well structured and organised, with it being run by the Work-Based Learning Team but you work with the team your programme is in. This gives you the opportunity to build relationships with multiple stakeholders within the Council.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Within the team I am completing my programme in, I have an unwavering amount of support from them and also from the WBL Team. Any support or help I have needed with tasks or assignments, they have always been there to help gather evidence, give advice and support where I have needed it.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Our training provider is an external stakeholder who has involvement in one of the assessments undertaken within the apprenticeship. As we don't have much involvement with them, it's not as easy to rate, but when I have needed to complete the assessment, they provided support.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I have learnt in detail how the Business Administration Qualification can further my skills and how it can help me secure future jobs and has opened up a new path of career.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

We don't have things such as sports teams etc.. but there are always opportunities for networking, engagement, and reaching out to others

Working in Local Government comes with bonuses, but at City of Lincoln Council everyone is friendly, supportive and always works as a team. When problems arise, they are tackled together so everyone helps each other out.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to City of Lincoln Council?
Put in 100% effort and you will thrive! Everyone is so supportive and acknowledging of hard work, it is a great place to work.
