Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
I was part of the team of journalists that report the news for our local branch, The Chronicle. This included me taking in part in meetings, training, vox popping, interviewing people for stories, writing up press releases and finding stories in the local area.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I was given the responsibility to write my own stories as well as find my own to report on, including reviews or chatting with people.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
I have a background in creative writing but this allowed me to adapt my writing style. I was able to grow my confidence in interviewing and talking to others to get stories as well as my ability to uses images and take photos for articles.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
Throughout my time at the internship I had support from management to team members in the offices to photographers. Everyone was really helpful giving me tips and supporting me during my time but most of all they were really encouraging.
