I carried out subcontract payments, subcontract order setting up, tendering, cost plans, change management
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

The programme is good, due to certain colleges not having the necessary accreditation, I had to carry out some modules I had already completed, meaning the programme took longer than initially told

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes - I have developed on all the job skills previously stated. In addition to this, I have been able to develop my computer skills on Excel, word and PowerPoint. Along with better communication skills and collaborative working

The apprentice team at BAM have been supportive and allowed for good understanding of the process from start of the programme to completion

Some areas of the training are good but sometimes with any training, it seems like a tick box exercise and the relevance of it has nothing to do with actual on the job works.

Why?
Overall BAM are a great company to work and train with, not one person wants to see you fail and everyone is behind you every step of the way
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAM?
Come in with an open mind for construction. Its not the stereotype view everyone has about construction. BAM are amazing at allowing people to thrive and develop at there own pace and support is always on hand. One great thing is that people within the business have also taken the same steps as you through the apprentice programme and therefore are understanding of the pressures of working and training at the same time.
