Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

4/5
Commissioning Startup is focused on the testing and documentation of engineering equipment built for a new project.
This can be anything from maintenance reports, spares analysis, meeting with other departments, physical testing schedules.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

4/5
I think the day release programme for my apprenticeship is very good. I like learning but I prefer doing it one day a week as it may burn me out otherwise

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

3/5
There's a focus on communication and teamwork that isn't highlighted as much at university or school. I have improved significantly since then

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

4/5
The programme follows a typical university schedule, with summer holidays etc. the course itself isn't perfect in delivery but it has been planned out well to match the work being done at my employer.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

5/5
If I ever need support, I reach out and hear back quickly with helpful responses. I have never felt ignored or pushed aside

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

3/5
I do receive support, but I feel like it could be far better than what it currently is.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

4/5
The course has been aligned to the industry, and some of the content learned has already proven useful in understanding processes at work.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

5/5
There's a fantastic degree apprentice council who make DAs aware of social opportunities. Additionally you can sign up to a number of different external teams and events.
