Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
Rotated through various engineering function departments for 1st 3 years of apprenticeship. Finishing in a design type role for the final year. Day to day tasks now involve management of engine cad assemblies, design tasks, and shadowing experienced engineers in the work they do.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I think it has been a great way to start my career in Cummins, and value the varied experience it has given me.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Massively developed my engineering knowledge and skills in line with KSB requirements for the apprenticeship. Most recently completed CAD training course in Creo developing CAD skills.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
It has not always been so good. New management has changed it and made it a more engaging experience.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Regular 1:1s and team meetings allow me to receive regular support.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Given plenty of working time to complete qualifications. Questions are always welcome.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
The content of my HNC aligns very well with the engineering practices we use within the design department I am now working within.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
New starters network exists but is only useful if you don't know a lot. Sometimes there are social teambuilding events but they are not too regular.
