Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Day to day, I call with suppliers to discuss trading trends and select offers for us to promote. I then work with our marketing team to get those offers into a nice advertising piece of artwork for an email, Facebook post or a page in the press. I then share this with the supplier and sign off the activity ready for it to go out to the public.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy the overall job majority of the time, although it can get very busy and stressful. The working environment could be better

I have learned everything i know about my role, while working in it. I have also developed my confidence as my role involves communicating with loads of people

How well organised/structured is your programme?

My apprenticeship programme was well structured. We had training once a week and received a timetable to indicate these days. we also had plenty of time doing the job.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Support was always available from my management and i was allowed plenty of time to complete any coursework
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I received a lot of support from my training provider (Hays Travel Learning and Development Team). My trainer I had always felt supported by throughout the programme.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It was good to start on the apprenticeship programme as the training went hand in hand with my daily role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are lots of events and social activties in my work. We have takeover days, where suppliers come in and do activities. We have out of office events such as ship visits and supplier meeting days.

I know many people/colleagues who have had to leave due to feeling unwelcome and due to an unhealthy environment.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Hays Travel?
If it is for the apprenticeship programme, then go for it! It's a great scheme to get the qualification. Many people do leave after this though.
