Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role at JLR is great for my personal development. I am giving independence and opportunities to showcase what I have learnt and how hard I am willing to work. I work in NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness), I have done several placements within the department and I am currently working in Chassis NVH, ensuring that the steering systems, for example, meet noise and vibration level targets.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I think the programme has changed me massively as a person, I am constantly pushed outside of my comfort zone and I have learnt how to adapt in high pressure environments. It's very rewarding looking back on not only how much I've learnt, but how much I've matured.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt several skills, from Work and University. I am currently working towards and I-Eng accreditation where I constantly review what skills I have developed, from software use to project management, presenting and how to behave at work.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The programme is tough but the structure is as good as it an be without increasing the duration of the course. The combination of work and university will always mean you are forced to do plenty of work outside of working hours, some points are stressful, but I think that's important for personal development.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive good support, I am given in independence, don't get micro managed and am given a lot of opportunity to ask for help if needed be. We have anonymous surveys to complain also.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I am given every Friday off to do University work, I sometimes have to do university work during working hours and people usually let me crack on with it.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I think the main benefits are teaching you how to perform under stress with multiple responsibilities. When I have breaks from University I become extremely productive at work. Also, the rounding it gives you as an engineer, understanding multiple attributes workloads and goals.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes there are loads, but as I am local to the area I haven't needed to get too involved as I have my other football team and running groups.
