Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I help manage Regulatory schemes like SM&CR and Training and competence, i aim to keep us compliant with FCA standards by conducting control testing, reporting on certain pieces of data and making sure that the required documents the FCA require are up to data. I also create and distribute the regulatory training across the business. A big part of my role has been integrating more technological approach to processes and making them more efficient through Excel, Power BI, Visual Basic and the use of other platforms.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

My programme has had a good balance of off and on the job learning and has given me the opportunity to be involved i things that i would have never expected before taking on the role which was a very nice surprise. I have also had the opportunity to work with many senior stakeholders which also cam as a surprise but is very good experience.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

before starting i didn't have many technological skills but now i cans say that my skills relating to excel and a lot of Microsoft platforms are advanced and this is because i have been given the chance to develop these skills. I have also had the opportunity to develop other skills like presentations and others through regular workshops which has been very helpful.

I jave a review every 4 weeks where i can go through certain parts of my project and i have open ended email conversations with the Tutor which allows easy communication

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel like the skills will help me as but i think that they arent specific to just my role they can help in many different roles

Why?

They have been very supportive within my development and have allowed me to explore all types of different roles and types of work so i can find what i enjoy. They have provided good guidance and have also given clear communication when needed.
