Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

As a fourth year apprentice my role essentially mimics the role of a trainee solicitor at the firm. Day-to-day tasks will be team dependent but will often involve assisting with the drafting of documents, communicating with clients, generally assisting on the transaction process in a transactional-based seat.

Drafting skills, soft skills, communicating with clients both over email and on the phone, case management skills.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Very well organised and structured - a six-year apprenticeship with a clear structure of progression throughout the years.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Great support from different individuals and teams - direct workplace supervisor, early careers team, apprenticeship manager, fellow apprentices, as well as different 'networks' such as a social mobility network, disability network.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Good support, including lecturers for each knowledge module, a general 'pastoral' tutor and a skills coach.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are lots of activities available as our firm has various 'circles' such as a books circle, films circle, i am involved in running our firm's 7-a-side Bristol football team which takes part in a commercial football league against other professional service firms.
