Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
The week lasted four days and on each of the first three we learned about the different teams within the three main divisions of HSBC CIB (investment banking, markets and transaction banking). On the final day we learned how to pass the tests to convert out spring internship into a summer internship.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was very intriguing to see what each division of HSBC CIB does on a daily basis through lectures and case work. What was even better was talking to some of these team members as part of networking sessions that were hosted for us.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
The area that I have learned the most about as someone interested in CMA is DCM modelling as it is a totally different style of modelling then anything else that I had learned before.

Company Culture
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
HSBC has a very welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. Through the networking sessions hosted for us we got to speak to many people at HSBC ranging from off-cycle interns to MDs and all of them were very pleasant to talk to.

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I thoroughly enjoyed the insight event and it has even further committed me to pursuing IB as a career path, especially in an environment like HSBC's.
