Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
Working within a small agile team to develop a mobile app simulator of the Lloyds app to help educate people who have never used a app before or who are not technology literate.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoy my apprenticeship a lot as I have moved teams several times to get expeience and working with new faces helps to build a good working relationship and learning new things from different people. Everyone in the different teams I have joined has been very supportive and helpful along with having great support from my manager and the apprenticeship team.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I was new to software engineering so I have learnt several programming languages, javascript, react, typescript, java, SQL and use them day to day within my role. I have learn some new soft skills too and how to work within a agile environment. I have also learn the fundamentals on python as well as learning Figma to make software designs.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The apprenticeship had a accelerator at the start for 8 weeks which was very intense as we had to learn a new topic everyday and it was hard to retain all that information. Then after that it was just one webinar a week. It might not have been the best way to set it out and maybe should have been spread out more. However I have spent time during work hours learning and improving my skills which has helped a lot. Loyds has given me this time during work hours for me to learn and develop new skills.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I have recieved a lot of support as I have moved team several times to get experience and to work with certain people to get mentored and learn from. They have provided me with the equipment and resources to help with my work and tolearn and gain new skills by providing subscriptions to places like Pluralsight. Having fortnightly check-ins with my manager to raise any concerns or issues I might have has helped a lot to get the support I need. There has also been the apprenticeship team who have provided webinars and another place to go to get help.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I have a coach assigned to me who helps guide me through what I have to do for my portfolios, what I need for my end point assesment and to help with any other concerns. I have a meeting with my coach and my manager from lloyds every 2 months to see how I have progressed, what I still need to do, how the course and training is going, what concerns I have and how to achieve the KSBs in my portfolio. If at anyother time I have concerns I can email my coach or we have a webinar from all the different coaches once a month to talk about a topic they have selected realated to our apprenticeship.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I feel the qualification through BPP helps with my role because I have learn the fundamentals on different programming languages to become a full stack developer and most of these languages I use within my team to develop our product. I feel I have been given the correct information and learning material which has then helped me go and learn more in my work hours by expanding on that knowledge by doing tutorials.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
I have been to some events across the UK provided by Lloyds and by BPP. These include social activities events at Lloyds during the year and specific events tied to different religious festivals as Lloyds prides itself on being inclusive and its also a great opportunity for me and colleague to learn about other religions and cultures. I have volunteered at events and will be volunteering with Lloyds to help local schools. I have been to networking events and events about AI and tech.
