Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

On a day-to-day basis I am having stakeholder meetings, creating training content for our sales teams, and always looking for ways to improve on the pieces of content we are releasing.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I find my apprenticeship very enjoyable, I am able to receive a good amount of work, and I am able to effectively prioritise this alongside my apprenticeship work. I also really enjoy the vibe in the office and find my colleagues great.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learned multiple new skills and developed on some too. The main skills I have gained is confidence when it comes to sharing ideas, and when presenting to others. I have also learned how to use various IT packages more effectively, such as Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams, etc. This is having used Google IT packages pretty much always before I started this role.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

I think my Sales Enablement apprenticeship is very well organised. I am exploring multiple different verticals within my apprenticeship and getting to work with lots of different stakeholders. I also think that the apprenticeship coursework is well structured and actually does relate to the work that I do.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive great support from my employer. I had heard such great things about Softcat, and things have been great ever since I joined.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I receive a lot of support from LDN who are my apprenticeship training provider. I also would say that I appreciate all the help my personal skills coach gives me too.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel like the apprenticeship coursework that I do does benefit me and helps me perform better in my role. This is mainly because I feel like lots of the topics relate back to what I do in my day-to-day role. This is things like stakeholder management, and prioritisation, effective communication, etc.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are lots of activities to get involved in. There are lots of different networks, sports events, and social activities. All held on a regular basis.
Recommendations & Advice
Would you recommend Softcat to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I believe that there is a real sense of community, once you get into your role properly you understand how everyone works together and there is a really good vibe. I think that with my role in particular as well there is a decent amount of travelling involved, and this allows me to see the other offices and get to experience things I didn't think I would this time last year.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Softcat?
I would say to make sure that if you are going to apply you prepare for the interview. Read up on the company and what we do, you don't need to have incredible technical knowledge to do any starting role. Just make sure you understand the company's core values, and the team culture we have here. But definitely make sure to apply!
