Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I work for Softcat in corporate sales support, supporting Account managers in their day-to-day roles of providing IT solutions to our customers. My duties are to maintain the workflow of sales support services through the joint team inbox and organise my time accordingly. I must also obtain the best pricing for all quotes using all internal processes such as deal registration and bid portals to do so, acknowledge the significance of being accurate, consistent and punctual when delivering results as well as interacting with internal and external departments when needed and foremost, make sure all my quotes are logged.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I am enjoying the programme as i can actively see their core values in place- fun, Passion, community, responsibility and intelligence.
Softcat work hard to deliver a vibrant, people-led culture that is energising, rewarding and respectful. I resonate with this as the word work itself is very niche- doing what needs to be done from 9 to 5. That itself sets a mellow mood. Having fun in such an environment is important to keep everyone going and generate a healthy mindset especially with serotonin being released. This promotes an active and inclusive environment

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have developed alot of new skills including, the knowledge of cloud, secure coding, negotiating with customers, obtaining and securing a successful sale, main methodologies used for unified communications etc

How well organised/structured is your programme?

It is very structured, I am not confused with the timeline within the programme or what I have to do/ work towards as an apprentice because everything has been made clear.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive a great amount of support from my co-workers, they have reassured me if i need help i should always speak out. I do not hesitate to ask for help.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive a great amount with constructive feedback to ensure i reach my full potential and above.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel really good as I am constantly learning new things and growing new skills.

Why?

I believe Softcat is a great place to kick start your career and build ad develop life-long skills as well as knowledge. With IT rapidly growing I believe being in this company will also be a great place to settle and take part within the growth if technology. The company also has a great culture which will make leaving very hard.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Softcat?

Show case your personality and who you are, don't be scared not to apply if you think you haven't got the knowledge to do so- all for giving people chances- It is not about what you know but more of the skills and traits you have :)
