In my role as a Cloud Billing Apprentice at Softcat, I am responsible for supporting the accurate billing of cloud services to customers. On a day‑to‑day basis, this involves checking invoices, resolving billing issues, and making sure usage and charges are correct. I regularly work through billing tickets, update systems with accurate information, and communicate with teams such as Sales, Account Managers, and other internal teams to fix queries or discrepancies. I also ensure tasks are completed on time, keep tickets updated with clear notes, and follow company processes and policies to maintain accuracy and compliance.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Softcat to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I would recommend Softcat to a friend because it offers a supportive and positive working environment with strong opportunities to learn and develop. As an apprentice, I’ve received good support from my team and manager, and the company encourages learning through real hands‑on experience alongside formal training. There is also a strong focus on culture, teamwork, and social activities, which makes it a welcoming place to work while building skills and confidence early in your career.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Softcat?
I would advise others applying to Softcat to be themselves and show a genuine interest in the role and the company. Softcat values attitude and willingness to learn just as much as experience, so it’s important to talk about your motivation, transferable skills, and how you’re keen to develop. Doing some research on Softcat’s values and culture helps, as this often comes up during the application and interview process.
