Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
In my role as a Hybrid Platforms apprentice, I work with products and vendors, understanding what they do and how they help the customers. I learn about the products through training modules where I gain certifications after completion. I shadow a lot of vendor calls where we discuss topics such as incentives, upcoming events etc. I help to support the business growth by proactively talking to teams about live, ongoing opportunities, doing whatever it takes to make the process more simple for everyone.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I am currently really enjoying my apprenticeship because it has allowed me to learn new skills such as networking - I have met so many new people and made lots of friends who I am excited to continue working with. I am also really enjoying the learning aspect of my apprenticeship because I am able to get on with it independently. I feel comfortable to ask questions when necessary, but majority of the time, I am confident enough to do the work by myself.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Definitely. A skill which I feel I feel I have learnt this starting this apprenticeship is networking. I have met many different people and had many different conversations about various topics. I feel this is an important skill to possess in the IT industry as I am constantly around new people, therefore knowing how to behave and communicate is key. I skill which I have developed is organisation - I have a calendar which has all my tasks for each day in, and it has become a habit to check it every evening to see what is planned for the following day. I have also started writing lists of smaller tasks I need to complete, such as journals for my apprenticeship learning, or sending out emails etc.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
I would say that my apprenticeship is well-structured because there is nothing about it that confuses me. The apprentices have a channel on a tool named 'Slack' where we are able to communicate with each other and our skills coach. My skills coach always returns my messages in a timely manner and never leaves me waiting. We have live sessions every month, as a group, to go over our learning topics and discuss our EPA, and which steps we need to take to get closer to it. As well as this, each of us have a progress review and a check in with our skills coach monthly, where we are able to talk one-to-one as discuss anything we feel necessary. Overall, the structure of my apprenticeship is exactly how I wanted it to be.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive lots of support from my employer/my manager. I have daily calls to discuss what needs to be done and how it can be done. I am never afraid to reach out for help if I ever need it, because I know it will be offered to me right away. I feel that I am in a safe environment where I am looked after. I also do not doubt that if I were doing something wrong or incorrectly, my employer would politely help me fix my errors.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I believe that my training provider supports me as much as they can. They are available to reach out to if I need help, or even if I just need my work checking, which is extremely helpful for me to know that I am on the right track. As previously mentioned, my training provider also offers sessions each month to discuss topics such as our learning modules and the next steps towards my EPA, which is massively important to me as my EPA is fast-approaching. We also have an in-person development day planned, which I think will be extremely helpful for us. Overall, I feel I receive the perfect amount of support.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I think that it gives me all the knowledge I need to perform to the best of my ability in my role. For example, learning about different professional behaviours and mannerisms makes me able to demonstrate these in my role on a day-today basis.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
My work do have different social events to get involved in, such as sports and hikes. I feel this is amazing to bring everyone together on a more personal level.
