Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I work as a Sales Operations Apprentice, supporting sales teams by helping maintain accurate data, reports and processes. On a day‑to‑day basis, I assist with sales reporting, check and validate information, and help ensure performance data is organised and reliable.
I work closely with colleagues across Sales and Operations to support day‑to‑day activity, respond to queries and improve how information is shared. Alongside this, I’m developing practical skills in data handling, reporting and business processes while gaining hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced commercial environme

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Softcat to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Yes, I would definitely recommend Softcat to a friend. From my experience, it’s a really supportive and welcoming place to work, especially as an apprentice. There is a strong focus on development with plenty of guidance, encouragement and opportunities to learn while gaining hands‑on experience in a real working environment.
The culture at Softcat is another big reason I would recommend it. Everyone is approachable and supportive, which makes it easy to ask questions, build confidence and feel part of the team. Alongside the role itself, there are also lots of social, sporting and networking opportunities available, which helps you meet new people and enjoy your time at work. Overall Softcat offers a great balance of professional development, support and company culture, making it a really positive place to start and grow your career.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Softcat?
My biggest piece of advice would be to be yourself throughout the application and interview process. Softcat really values personality, so there’s no need to overthink your answers or try to sound overly formal. Just be genuine, relaxed and honest. As long as you show who you are and your willingness to learn that will come across far better than rehearsed or scripted answers.
