Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Governance Secretary - organising meetings, filing documents, approving documents, typing notes/minutes, explaining procedures, chasing follow up actions from teams
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
Work culture at Lloyds is fantastic - very supportive line manager, given the autonomy to reach out to more people/teams in free time, encouraged to further develop own career, hybrid working means only need to attend 2 days a week in office so flexible in work comfort. Programme allows a day off to study whatever you like, further allowing you to lead your own development.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Just by hearing people talk and continual review of documents, you naturally get more familiar with financial jargon used and are able to understand how to interpret what was previously complete gibberish. Also learnt a lot of GenAI prompting and experimenting to better problem solve ways to increase work efficiency.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Well organised - typical structured week has a 2.5 hour lecture, 1 hour homework, one free day study day, so plenty of time to study.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Line manager actively encourages self-development and reaching out to new people. Company has resources to learn from. Talent team there to answer any questions.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Kaplan Tutor will respond when you email them.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
Helps the best they can with a generalised banker qualification - however most roles are specialised, so how well the qualification helps hugely depends on your role. However, despite that it will give a huge boost in understanding in the background of how banks work that greatly gives context for you to figure out what you are doing/what value each team is providing.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are regular wellbeing social events that you can sign up for. There is a sports team you can join but it is quite convoluted on how to join it!
