Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I work as an Apprentice Prototype Technician which is a manufacturing role. On a day-to-day, I set, program and operate a variety of machinery within the department in order to create fully finished parts whether that be turbo or non-turbo hardware.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
Fully enjoyed the experience as whole as my apprenticeship journey comes to an end. All the way from my first year where I was based off site at a training provider for the full academic year, with a supportive provider with well suited courses to the job specific training provided by them company to aid me in my progression.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Learnt a wide variety of job specific skills that I could not have learnt in a classroom or with a training provider and also developed a wide array of existing skills such as confidence, communication and personal skills.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Very well organised especially the on-the-job portion as I had a clear and well supported, plant wide rotation as well as a specific department rotation to build the best foundation of knowledge of my department and job role.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Extremely well supported within every area of my apprenticeship. Given good progression opportunities and feel pushed to achieve more without feeling pressured.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
Somewhat supported during the second and third year when going once a week. Well supported when at the training provider for the full academic year.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
The qualifications that the training provider enrolled me in were more general so they weren't that helpful when starting my on the job training
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
2/5
Not very many in terms of activities and sports. offer a large amount of networking events.
