I manage our building and environmental challenges across the entire BT estate. Working closely with external auditors to ensure BT remains not only compliant, but excels at their ISO accreditations.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I absolutely adore the graduate apprenticeship i am currently on. BT has given me a wonderful opportunity to build myself to help the business moving forwards. As someone who left school with little qualifications, having this support from BT is allowing me to show my full potential.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learned so much in the last year! from finances to jargon busting, to creating powerful reports and power points.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The course is very well structured, with 1 day a week dedicated to learning and attending university.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

The support i receive from BT is second to none, on the challenging weeks, i am giving more time to study. I have a dedicated manager who is very supportive on me on this programme. I also have a dedicated work place mentor who i have a catch scheduled every few weeks, and i can get in touch with them at any point also.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Massively, and it will only get better and stronger as the years go on. Almost completed year 1 so far and i can see the difference already!
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes, there are loads of these, most are self managed at local offices. Networking events happen all the time and are a great place to learn from other people.

Why?
I have worked here for 12 years and i absolutely love the place. Most of my family have worked here over the years and always been really happy and proud to be an employee.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BT Group?
Be very open, embrace change, albeit it might be scary at first. Never hold back on your ideas, they might seem small to you but they could be massive for our business and customers. Always be inquisitive, always be willing to adapt, always be willing to push things past the boundaries.
