I had a great experience as an apprentice with Cummins i was exposed to HR processes on a Global Scale. Managers at Cummins are really supportive and the culture was very much helping me to develop and gain qualifications.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoyed my HR course, I studied through teesside university based at Darlington College. My tutors were supportive and I benefitted greatly from in person lectures each week with other HR professionals.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt lots of new skills not only in managing and adminstering HR processes but also soft skills, such as communication (email writing, verbal communication etiquette), Excel training and Six Sigma training and project management skills.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Always well structured and managers helped me to have the relevant work experience for what I was studying.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Fantastic support from the company and my managers, always pushing me to succeed.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Excellent support from the training provider, I was given plenty of preparation for End Point Assessment which enabled me to achieve a distinction result.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My qualification has really helped me have the theory and skills to apply to real work place situations.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I take part in the Europe Pride Group and volunteer each year at the Darlington Pride event.
