Corresponding with clients, doing the grondwork for their tax compliance, e.g trust accounts/tax returns/ CGT returns, providing advice and investigating areas of tax law to provide clients with sound and up to date work and advice.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Learnt a whole range of new skills having not come from an accounting background; I learn accounting principles, professional ethics, lots of tax rules and legislation and how to do compliance for individuals.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

In terms of my job it is super well organised and the way I am gradually introduced into more responsibility and technical areas is great, but on the apprenticeship provider side it always seems like the online course modules I am given are not so useful as they are too late and teach me about things I have already done and become comfortable with at work.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I get sufficient study days and time to do apprenticeship tasks with lots of support towards my development.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

We get college sessions and lots of online resources when it comes to exams, and my employer is also conscious in giving me work relevant to the exams to help me practise too closer to the time.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel I am ahead in my role of where we are with the qualification, as a lot of what I am learning in college at the moment is things I did in my first few months at work. I think it's rather the other way around in that what I learn in my role helps me with things for my qualification, rather than what I learn with the training provider.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes there are plenty of extra curriculars including sports events like football and rounders, and lots of socials and charity events like races and team drinks/lunches.
