Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I support in testing, developing and the maintenance of software/code, by working alongside experienced developers to aid in amending code, improve systems and gain hands on experience in different programming languages and tools. In terms of my qualification, I create/have time for my learning and use the insight from my work onto my qualification and vice versa.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy it very much, I love having responsibility and I am being pushed, and being able to experience the workplace and gain that hands on learning and being able to apply it. I also love the fact I have those with experience around me to help and guide me. And how I also have insight on different things that bring value to my team and further.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt new coding languages, platforms and systems, bank etiquette etc. I have developed on some of my previous coding skills. As well as some other basic skills such as communication but effectively, getting to know others, time management in terms of work/school work and meetings etc.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

I have learning work to complete and that has a timeframe in which I should complete it, and my team is very accommodating of this. They will give me the time I need for it and when I am not doing qualification work and am more hands on with the team. In terms of what my team do, there are set deadlines for the work I do and my team always helps to ensure I know what I am doing and the deadline for it.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My training provider gives me support whenever I ask or just to help, they are always available and get back to me asap.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

There is quite a lot that I gain from my qualification that helps me understand organisations more and my job more.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are loads of networking events depending on your department, as well as socials, this helps builds bonds with those around you and puts off some work related pressure.

Why?
They don't leave you in the dark and there is always someone to support you. It is also a great environments with great people.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NatWest Group?
Make sure you know what your role entails and if that's something you really want to do, and make sure to have that drive and resilience as it can be daunting at times, but to also remain curious, the only way you will know anything is by asking.
