Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Day to day I would shadow calls, meet or skype call different people from my team from across the world. I would also complete different weekly tasks depending on the part of the team I was with that week. I did rotations with PM, Testing / QA and BFA within my team.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Not a lot, I think there was a greater focus in me getting a greater and wider understanding of different roles on my team and so I was able to complete smaller tasks throughout my rotations within the team.

I have first developed many hard skills such as python, using the GCP, github, excel, research skills, using Jira and confluence
I have also developed many soft skills such as team work, leadership, organisation, communication skills, professionalism and more

I received a lot of support and advice from my manager, people from my team, my buddy as well as from Jess.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
I was pleasantly surprised with how approachable and welcoming everyone was especially in my beginning weeks. Everyone was super helpful with any questions that I had and the overall atmosphere was very positive.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I really enjoyed my internship experience. I learnt a huge amount from my team and have developed on many of my skills. I also enjoyed meeting the other interns and attending the intern sessions and socials.

What advice would you give to others applying to Deutsche Bank
Be authentic in your applications and keep an open mind when joining the bank because there are so many different teams and roles within tech which you may not have known about or considered which you may enjoy more than what you initially thought you would.
