Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role involves managing a portfolio of business account applications and analysing these applications for any actual or potential financial crime risks. I support the account onboarding process and liaise with a number of key stakeholders such as economic crime prevention teams.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy my programme as I feel a great sense of responsibility to keep our customers, our colleagues and our business safe. I also clearly understand how my role supports our customers and the apprenticeship has strengthened my knowledge around different regulatory standards and compliance measures, so I can feel further confident when supporting clients through the account opening process.

Absolutely, I have developed many skills such as communicating confidently and adapting my message or words depending on the audience I intend to engage.
The main three skills I have learned through my apprenticeship would be:
- Managing my time effectively
- Understanding the importance of risk and compliance as a business area
- Processing information from an analytical lense so that I can present information clearly to other teams across our divisions

Lloyds Banking Group (LBG) is a brilliant organisation and is massively supportive for early career professionals. The apprenticeship delivery is exceptional, with a range of support from my line manager, talent coach and experienced peers within my team. My experience working at LBG has also helped me grow and develop new skills, such as using a more analytical lense and confidently presenting key information to a variety of stakeholders. I also enjoy the extracurricular aspects, such as getting involved in various volunteering opportunities to help inspire the next generation of talent!
