Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Testing web pages and softwares
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
It was tough at times, coming from a very different background, but I finished this apprenticeship and learnt a lot more than I expected through it.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Software testing in particular, but I also learned the basics of all the SDLC. I have improved most of my soft skills too, from communication to organisation and ownership.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
Firebrand is not a very well structured company, and there have been multiple communication issues. Lloyds allowed me all the time I needed to complete my courses. The course material was good overall and I had a positive experience with all the teachers
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
In Lloyds I felt supported throughout my experience, when I had issues I could talk to my manager, but also to apprenticeship buddies and other source of support.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
Some people in Firebrand were helpful, some were not. Communication has been poor at times.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
I have learnt a lot more on the job than during training. However, as someone with no previous experience and knowledge in the field, I recognise the course material was important to give me a base.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There is plenty extra curricular opportunities in Lloyds. There is a very active internal social media with groups and activities. There is the possibility to volunteer through Lloyds and even go on treks around the world to raise money for charity.
