Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Cash/ Liquidity Management, Daily Balance reporting for Treasury Managed accounts including funding for global entities within the company. Rate reporting of FX, IR and SOFR Rates. Audit tasks and reporting/ data analysis projects. Intern opportunities include working with Interns in Mexico on projects and multiple charity/ fundraising responsibilities.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Once I understood the processes and inputs to cash management, I have been able to take more independent initiative in my role. Most definitely given real responsibilities and impactful tasks throughout the year !

Developed technical skills in programmes such as EXCEL and LSEG through practice, access to online courses, in person workshops and access to online webinars. Professionalism/ soft skills workshops given by Travelport also.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

Fantastic Mentor scheme which has been amazing for support (mentor assigned from outside team). Very welcoming and supportive team- have got support and career guidance from many colleagues.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Very welcoming culture to new starters, very receptive to interns and the company has given us real impactful responsibilities and trust. Overall lots of effort from the company to make our experience well rounded and helpful going forward in our careers, workshops, training, mentor scheme, charity opportunities all set up to assist us in our development. Lots of social opportunities too- Christmas lunch, social activities outside of work open to all, team lunches, Wednesday football. Lots of CSR opportunities run by interns

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I have definitely enjoyed my time at Travelport as an intern, it has been a relaxed, welcoming environment that pushes us to take on real responsibilities and learn new technical skills while offering many opportunities for personal/ career/ technical development for us to take.
