Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I work as an Apprentice Early Years Practitioner in a preschool room. My role involves supporting children’s learning, development and wellbeing in line with the EYFS framework and our internal policies and procedures. I create a safe and inclusive environment and provide learning opportunities based on children’s interests and stages of development. As a key person, I work closely with families to support each child effectively.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
The programme was excellent. I expanded my knowledge in early years and implemented it into my everyday practice.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes, I have developed both new and existing skills. I have improved my communication skills, particularly when having conversations, as well as my observation skills. I have also learnt how to write assessments and effectively support children’s needs.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The programme was very well organised and divided into topics based on specific areas. I had supportive webinars from the training provider where we discussed practical cases. I was given time and resources to expand my knowledge.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I was fully supported by my manager, colleagues and my company. I was given all the learning time I needed to complete my programme. When I needed support with understanding theoretical questions, I asked my manager and she explained everything to me. This was especially helpful when completing paperwork for children with SEND.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I was fully supported by my assessor. She gave me feedback on all my work so I could improve my practice. She highlighted my strengths and identified areas for development, which helped me deepen my learning.

5/5
My qualification has helped me improve my practice and perform better in my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes, we have monthly staff meetings.
