my role as an early years practitioner involves looking after the children, in my care making sure that they are looked after in the right manner and helping them develop throughout their time in the nursery.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

i really enjoy looking after the children that we we work with, watching them grow into the little humans they are and creating those bonds with them and creating a bonds with the parents and getting to know their family. i didnt put 5 stars as the job itself can be tricky at times but the job and the people i work with are amazing.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

ive defintely learnt some new skills and information with this job especially the really important thing such as first aid before i started this i didnt know how to do cpr or give an epi pen out to someone in need but after my first aid course and recent events needing an epi pen a lot of training and advice has been giving i would now feel comfortable to be able to do these things if i was put in that situation.

i do feel as at the start there was a lot of things that needed better work and looking at as it took a long time for me to start, as they were changing who they were with but overall i feel as though now i have a lovely apprentice tutor who does help me and goes off what i need and know.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

defintely feel my mangers are really good at being able to break thing down abit for me if im worried about something they will always make sure that i understand and go through it a bit with me.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

she is able to break things down for me if i need a bit of support, she is always available if i need to message her about the course and is constantly on it with checking what she can do to make things easier for me when the work load gets abit to much.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

i feel as though every call we have because im revisiting things that i know but didnt think i did which is helping my confidence in knowledge. she also asks about how im feeling within the nursery role if there is anything she can talk to my manager about.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

i dont think there are the only things that we do are within the nursery for example the children do physical sport with rugby.

i feel as though this nursery is a good nursery to be in because of how small it is you really feel your a family and all the rooms are connected and help eachother out.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to The Old Station Nursery?
make sure you ask as many questions as possible about that room so you get to know the children and the people quicker and know more about the children.
