Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Currently based in Anniesland college. Due to officially start working in the yard in June. We had a college phase that was completed in the Trade Hall within BAE, it was good to be surrounded by tradies and seeing how a day in the life can look after you qualify.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have loved the programme so far. You are pushed enough that you can grow and learn what fhe standards expected of you are.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Developed many skills since starting, we regularly have sessions regarding our meta skills. This keeps it fresh in your mind.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Great structure cannot fault it. If we have difficulty in college the lecturers are very approachable
How much support do you receive from your employer?

We always have a member of the early careers team on hand if we have any questions or issues. We also have weekly meetings in the college with our early careers team.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

They are all very approachable and ifyou have issues you can talk to them.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Its goving me the background knowledge thats needed to understand electrical systems.

Yes there are events within the business that we can attend on a regular enough basis

Yes
Why?
They are a very supportive and inclusive employer. They offer a long career with great benefits and a great pension. Cannot fault BAE Systems at all.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
Ensure you're ready to put the work in and it can be demanding at times but its one of the most rewarding jobs ive ever had. Show up for your interview prepared and smile plenty. It could be one of the best decisions you ever make.
