Overall, how would you describe your experience at BAE Systems?
Really positive and supportive environment with lots of learning and exposure to new technologies.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
I enjoy designing software and helping on interesting projects, especially being in the research and development side of the company. I also enjoy learning new programming languages.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

I feel positive about rolling off of the graduate scheme following everything I've learned during the scheme

I get frequent reviews for Subject Matter Experts and support to develop new skills as well as being thrown in at the deep end to learn on the job

The culture, values and atmosphere in my team is positive, however I have experienced incidences where this isn't the case

I think BAE are making an effort to become more diverse and inclusive. I definitely feel heard and valued as a woman, albeit not many of us

I've had multiple opportunities to participate in outreach and community work. However, most of this is due to me seeking out these opportunities rather than being offered them

Why?
BAE is a really good place to work, from the benefits and work-life balance it allows for to the actual work itself which is interesting, cutting-edge and I feel as though I'm constantly learning. Out of all the work places I've worked in my life, this one has been the best.
How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?
4/5
I thought the expectations of me would be greater, so there wasn't much detail until starting the job on that. I was eased into the role, rather than joining and expected to know everything, this was helpful and created an environment where I felt comfortable to learn.
When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to BAE Systems?
I'd say to research the BAE values and behaviours and understand how you've applied these throughout education or life.
