Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Have a stand up in the morning to discuss with the team in the morning to discuss what needs doing in the day. I will work on a ticket which may involve fixing problems with infrastructure or pipelines. Helping if people have problems with what they are working on. Or developing solutions to problems which may arise.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Im really loving learning to be a DevOps engineer. Im learning loads of new skills that I didnt know existed and its really satisfying solving problems

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learned lots of new skills learning new technologies such as terraform and kuberneties. I have also improved my soft skills working with others to get tickets done.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Its really well organised I have a lot of former apprentices on the team so I have lots of support on what to learn and how to complete tasks not only with work but the apprenticeship aspect as well.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive lots of support not only from my team but also the talent team holds lots of catch ups to make sure Im doing ok. They also help out with other things like interview practice.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I recieve lots of support i am given plenty of time to complete my L&D and am offered support where I need help.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The bootcamp gave me a good overview of systems I would be using.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes there are lots of events there are conferences, social clubs, days specifically for DevOps engineers to meet up

Dont worry to much about adapting to such a large organisation just keep on going and you will understand how it works eventually.
