Senior Programme Manager Review

I lead complex, cross‑functional cost‑transformation initiatives, translating strategic intent into clear, executable programmes that deliver sustainable outcomes.
Day to day, I bring structure to ambiguity by designing target operating models, shaping delivery plans, and ensuring the right governance, commercial routes and stakeholder alignment are in place before scaling execution.
I act as a trusted advisor and challenger to senior leaders, synthesising complex issues into decision‑ready narratives, building robust business cases, and managing dependencies across Finance, Procurement, Legal, Digital, Data and external partners.
My focus is on creating the systems, clarity and conditions required for successful delivery - balancing pace with rigour, and short‑term results with long‑term organisational health.

The programme is well organised and clearly structured, with a strong rhythm of weekly learning content and weekly webinars. There are also full‑day masterclasses spread out during the modules.
The structure supports consistent engagement and progressive learning.
While the content is often intellectually demanding, it is thoughtfully designed and provides depth and rigour that meaningfully supports leadership development.

We work flexibly at BT so the expectation, at my level, is to manage my workload and diary to enable me to do an apprenticeship alongside my existing role.
We are trusted to do the job and make the time for learning.
I think for junior apprenticeships it is worth managers being more structured with their team about how to manage time and prioritise both the work, and the learning, in order to be successful.

The training provider is great and the content is well thought through. Because this is a masters level course there is very little feedback on assessments and it does feel very "lonely" when creating and submitting that content.
