Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I work as a Data Technician Apprentice, where my role focuses on collecting, managing, analysing, and presenting data to support decision‑making across the organisation. On a day‑to‑day basis, I work closely with stakeholders such as managers and recruitment teams to ensure data is accurate, meaningful, and clearly communicated.
A key part of my role involves maintaining data quality within systems such as Zoho CRM. This includes checking records for consistency, validating entries, and ensuring fields such as lead status, sub‑status, and course information are correctly populated.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoy my programme a lot. I find it engaging and rewarding because it allows me to develop practical data skills that I can apply directly in my role. The programme has helped me better understand how data is collected, analysed, and communicated to support real business decisions. I especially enjoy working with real datasets, creating reports and dashboards, and seeing how my work contributes to improving processes and decision‑making within the organisation.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have built strong skills in data handling and analysis, including working with real datasets, applying filters, using formulas, and identifying trends in data. I have also developed my ability to create reports and dashboards, particularly within systems such as Zoho CRM, where I analyse applications, offers, targets, and year‑on‑year performance. I have also developed my skills in Excel and Power BI where I have learnt to organise datasets, apply formulas, create pivot tables, and visualise data to identify trends and patterns.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
I find my programme to be well organised and clearly structured. The learning is delivered in a logical way, with topics building on previous knowledge, which makes it easier to understand and apply what I am learning. There is a good balance between theory and practical work, allowing me to link coursework directly to my day‑to‑day role.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a high level of support from my employer throughout my programme. My manager is supportive of my learning and ensures I have the time and flexibility needed to complete my apprenticeship tasks alongside my day‑to‑day responsibilities. I am encouraged to apply what I learn directly in my role, which helps reinforce my skills and build confidence.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I receive strong and consistent support from my training provider while working towards my qualifications. They provide clear guidance on course requirements, assessments, and deadlines, which helps me stay organised and confident in my progress. Learning materials are structured well, and sessions are delivered in a way that is easy to understand and relevant to my role.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I feel that my qualification supports my performance in my role to a great extent. The knowledge and skills I gain through my training provider are closely aligned with my day‑to‑day responsibilities, which makes the learning highly relevant and practical. Concepts covered in the programme—such as data analysis, data quality, reporting, and data visualisation—can be applied directly to my work, helping me carry out tasks more efficiently and confidently.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes, there are several extra‑curricular and social activities available at my workplace. These include referral events, which allow staff to engage with potential students and build professional relationships, as well as a boat party at the end of the intake, which is organised as a social event to celebrate the completion of recruitment periods. Additionally, we have team away days, which help strengthen team relationships, improve collaboration, and provide an opportunity to step away from day‑to‑day work to reflect and engage with colleagues in a different setting.
