Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Taking part in a range of network operation tasks such as command line troubleshooting, software updates, backup taking, virtual machine management. I enjoy the range of activities.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy the programme, it has been very helpful in getting my head in network engineering, I enjoy going around the different teams and learning about what they do. I have had the chance to take part in many different projects and cant wait to assimilate into a role.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

In my apprenticeship there is always a chance to learn new skills, there is many people in my office who are happy to take me on whenever I want too. I have developed many skills like problem solving, using the command line, working with IP addresses, and just networking fundamentals in general.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

I would say its quite well strucutured, I have had many rotations with different teams, and the chance to gain up to 3 certifications alongside my apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I know I always have support when I need it, and my line manager makes that clear to me.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

They give good advice and timelines as to when I should start training for my next certification.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It gives me things to focus on to improve my knowledge around my role, many courses and projects to work on to build on my knowledge.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

We have a christmas meal every year, and throughout the year people organise activities such as charity football, volunteering atleast once a year as well, and some social meets in the evenings.
