Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

As an electrical apprentice I spend my time as a year 1 learning the essential skills for when I get my placements after 10 months in the skills development centre.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I'm thoroughly enjoying my apprenticeship with BAE Systems. I feel like all of the skills coaches keep work exciting by mixing up what we are working on week by week.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

As someone with prior experience in electrical, I feel like I am still developing skills. Especially as this is a more specialised role (being in the maritime environment)

My skills coaches are incredibly kind and supportive of everyone's personal needs.

Yes
Why?
Its a very secure job. It has clear structure of what you can possibly earn and the sky is the limit as the company is so large. There are lots of avenues within the company you can take once qualified.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
Really focus on learning how to interview well and make sure that the role you apply for is actually right for you. BAE Systems does a good job at hiring the right people.
