Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I work with pension funds and I am part of the client team that helps them to invest their fund so that they can meet their liabilities in the future. I help support the consultants on my teams to deliver work to clients. I get involved in a range of work like drafting reports, data analysis, regulatory requirements, etc.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I think the programme I am on has been a great way to get into the industry without a degree and I like what I am currently doing.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I've developed my communication and organisation skills. I have also learnt how to best help out a team of people and understand the importance of making sure that I am available to pick up work that wouldn't ordinarily be my responsibility.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
I think there is clear career progression and structure within my programme, however, as this apprenticeship doesn't have set college day, the time for coursework and revision can be put on the backburner a bit. Other than that, I think the structure is great and achieveable to complete it in the timeframe they set.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a good amount of support. I have regular catch ups with my manager as well as group sessions with the team leader.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I have regular catch ups with my training provider, with and without my manager.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I think it is the necessary step to get on the career ladder and the coursework is mostly relevant to my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are lots of socials that everyone is encouraged to get involved in.

Would you recommend Aon to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I think the culture is very good, clear career progression and structures in place for support.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Aon?
Ensure that you research the job role and ask lots of questions in the interview or when onboarding to get a feel for the position.
