Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

In my role I was supporting Insurance brokers with the placement of commercial risks, this involved creating insurance contracts, issuing invoices and answering any query's.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoyed my programme and the work that was involved I also think there are many opportunities for growth at Aon, however it did get challenging to find time to study for the qualifications.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt many new skills and developed existing skills such as - time management, my attention to detail and working in a team. I joined Aon with zero insurance experience and now feel comfortable in the industry. I also learnt how to act in a professional environment which is very beneficial for my career.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

My programme was very well organised and I had set out targets and dates to meet at every step, we also have coaches which ensure you are sticking to these deadlines and offering help at every stage.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I received a lot of support from my employer especially around exams which I was given one day a week to use for my apprenticeship , nearer the time of the exams I was also given study days which I could take whenever I wanted to.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I had monthly catch ups with my coach and quarterly reviews of my progress which helped to keep my on track.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel the CII exams help within my role and give me extra knowledge and confidence that help me day to day.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

During my apprenticeship there was many chances to get involved in activities around the firm but also industry wide.

Why?
I feel Aon was very supportive throughout the whole course and helped me to develop throughout. There are also many opportunities during and after the apprenticeship.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Aon?
During the recruitment process I would suggest reaching out to current and former apprentices and trying to attend any networking events.
