Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I currently work in the housing disrepair department at bond Turner Solicitors where i deal with clients who make claims against social landlords for the disrepair in their property. I take calls with clients and go through an initial vetting call where I obtain their details and note down the disrepair. I then produce letter of claim documents which i then print and send via post and email to landlords and clients.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Really enjoying my role/apprenticeship. I have created more relationships with colleagues and fellow students that I work with.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have developed my communication, listening and concentration skills particularly when on calls. My efficiency and attention to detail has improved especially when producing the legal documentation that is sent to social landlords and the clients we represent.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

My apprenticeship is clearly structured. I have access to the study planner, which sets out when I am to attend online lectures. Their is timetables available that give me the dates of exams to ensure I am prepared and aware of when they are. The BPP Hub that I use, has all the information I need to get through my apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I have regular progress review meeting with my line manager and university coach who give me all the support i need and feedback in order to make my work better. I have a really positive and friendly relationship with my department manager, who will support me with anything is require.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I have progress review meetings every term to ensure I am on track with my training hours, exams etc.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The coursework that I must complete for my end point assessment encourages me to adapt/link my work to certain knowledge, skills and behaviours that the university set. This helps with my progression in my department as it encourages me to take on different tasks to meet the KSB's.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Their are many social events such as Merseyside Junior Lawyers events that I can attend which allow me to network with other apprentices and those in other roles in the legal service.

Why?
The working environment at my firm is friendly, welcoming and a supportive place to work. I would highly recommend the firm to anyone who wants to pursue a career in the legal sector. The firm offers so much opportunity for progression.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Bond Turner Solicitors?
The advise I would give is to urge them to highlight any experience that demonstrates their ability to communicate clearly, handle responsibility and support other, especially in fast paced/challenging situations. I would advised them to emphasise their willingness to learn, take initiative and contribute positively to a collaborative environment.
