The HR Consultant role provides professional HR advice and guidance to leaders and colleagues, supporting the effective management of people matters in line with LBG policies and values. The role focuses on employee relations, performance management, absence, and wellbeing, ensuring fair, consistent, and timely outcomes.
HR Consultants work in partnership with Line Managers to build capability, manage risk, and support positive colleague experiences, while contributing to the delivery of high‑quality HR service across the Group.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I am really enjoying my apprenticeship and finding it both informative and engaging. The content is creative and well‑structured, which helps keep learning interesting and practical. I am developing new skills and knowledge throughout the programme and feel I am learning a great deal that I can apply in my role.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Through my apprenticeship, I have developed a wide range of new skills while also building on the knowledge and experience I already had. The programme has helped me strengthen my existing capabilities by applying them in new and more structured ways, while also introducing me to new concepts, tools, and ways of working.
I feel more confident in my ability to apply learning in practice, think more critically, and approach tasks with greater understanding and professionalism. Overall, the apprenticeship has significantly supported my personal and professional development and continues to add real value to my role.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

My apprenticeship is very well organised and clearly structured, which makes the learning experience easy to follow and highly effective. The programme is set out in a way that builds knowledge progressively, allowing me to understand how each element connects and supports my overall development.
My tutor has been exceptional throughout the apprenticeship. They are supportive, knowledgeable, and approachable, and they explain concepts clearly while encouraging reflection and independent thinking. Their guidance and feedback have been invaluable in helping me build confidence, develop new skills, and get the most out of the programme.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

It gives me a wider understanding of the HR world which means I can think more pragmatically when trying to come to a decision for the bank and colleague.
