Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I am an apprentice in the Investor Services sector at Citi. I am specifically in the Fund Services Product team, this will involve working closely in different products such as Transfer Agency, ETFs etc. I have worked on various different projects whilst working in this team, ranging from self marketing internally to helping out during important client calls.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoy my programme, I enjoy the balance between the coursework and exams against the day to day work at Citi.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt new skills such as working in large teams, contributing and hosting meetings, owning my own projects and being in a work environment. I have also also developed some existing skills such as my time management and communications skills.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Citi has made my programme very well organised, with having set study days to work on revision for my exams and time for my coursework. It is balanced with 4 days of working at Citi, 3 of these are in the office, allowing me to experience in person scenarios and meeting new people.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a lot of support from Citi, my manager and my team are always available to help me where I need it. The culture is one of my favourite parts about working here at Citi.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I have catch up calls with my training provider every 6 weeks, which gives me a good opportunity to raise any problems i may have whether this is about my coursework or exams.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I feel that the qualification I have achieved from my exam matches very well with the industry I am working in. Learning these new things has helped me perform better throughout my work.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There have been multiple opportunities for me to participate in firm wide events and activities, I have also attended multiple networking events more specific to my role.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Citi to a friend?
Yes
Why?
The culture at Citi is great, I enjoy coming to work and learning something new everyday. Everyone here at Citi is great to work with and settling into a new job and industry was made much easier here at Citi.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Citi?
My advice would be to be yourself in the interviews and be really willing to learn especially if you are applying to be an apprentice.
