Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at Experian?
My experience at Experian has been extremely positive! The carefully designed programme has enabled me to get a great understanding of how the organisation operates, exposure to senior leadership teams, all while being supported in obtaining my accountancy certifications (CIMA).
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
The main responsibilities of the role was using the financial systems for reporting purposes, partnering with the business and finance colleagues, supporting the likes of the budget and the strategic five year plan.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?
5/5
My role has enabled me to take a lead on a wide variety of projects and meaningfully add value (even through learning) - this has enabled lots of opportunities for automation.
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?
5/5
I would argue that for Nottingham, and a graduate entry role, you are remitted very fairly.
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?
5/5
I believe the role had really prepared me for my future career as I was able to leave the graduate scheme early and begin a finance partnering role (with the right support).
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?
4/5
There are lots of opportunity for development of new/existing skills, we have formal training courses all year round through 'Power Hour' sessions, as well as Elevate (our learning/development platform).

Experience & Company Culture

How is the support you receive?
5/5
We had a dedicated Early Careers team that built the graduate scheme from scratch, we had quarterly sessions and personal development opportunities. My line managers were experienced people managers and understood the expectations, but also our potential - giving us opportunities to learn and grow.
How is your work-life balance?
4/5
Work life balance is relatively good - especially compared to other companies. I think given that we were also studying towards CIMA, part of the agreement is you spend a lot of personal time on this too.
What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?
5/5
Organisational culture is amazing - I soon realised this when speaking with friends in other organisations and how Experian stands out. We have socials, mental health support, well thought out packages and bonuses. Experian has a lot of employee resource groups that we can get involved with, there's a real sense of community.
How would you rate Experian initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?
5/5
To my prior point, Experian has a lot of employee resource groups that we can get involved with, there's a real sense of community. This includes Veterans, LGBTQ+, Minority Groups, Working Families, etc
How would you rate Experian CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives?
5/5
Very good! We are provided with 3 volunteering days a year, of which we have a bundle of things to choose from - we can also spend more time volunteering at the discretion of our managers.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Experian to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I believe Experian has really helped me to develop and grow into the person that I am, providing me with the right tools and people leaders. I also think that they want team players and look for this within their recruitment proccesses.
How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?
5/5
Exceeded - I got the opportunity to see such a vast span of the business, rotating in different teams within UK&I Finance but also Global Finance.
When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to Experian?
I always say to others be yourself and be a team player, Experian can teach you to be a leader, but you need to be a team player first, and that's what they look for.
