Internal Audit Manager Review

My role involves leading and delivering internal audits, managing relationships with the business through business monitoring and validating actions taken in response to issues identified.

Yes, I was expected to lead a team of internal auditors in delivering an internal audit and to be accountable for their work on the audit and my work on validating actions, as well as maintaining relationships with key stakeholders in the business.

Through the internship I have learned many new skills and developed my existing skills, those of particular relevance include coaching, project management and time management skills.

I have received a fantastic level of support from my line manager at Citi, who has been essential in helping me build my skills, providing encouragement and enabling my growth and success. I thoroughly enjoy working with him and would recommend him not just as a manager but as a mentor, coach and human being. The training provider, Corndel has also been very hands on in providing training, support and assistance every step of the way, with weekly exercises and regular training and catch up sessions.

My company has a positive culture with significant focus on achieving the challenging objectives and delivering on the goals that will enable it to become even more successful, without losing sight of all the things that make it so special. At a local level, my team is extremely hard working, but also supportive and caring. When I joined I was welcomed like a long lost family member and I am proud to say that I work for Citi.

I am really enjoying my internship and a big part of this is down to the company I work for, specifically the team in Internal Audit that I work with. The whole outlook is that we succeed as a team rather than as a collection of individuals who happen to share the same office.
