Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My apprenticeship involved completing E learning Modules on IT sales skills and IT specific topics and terminology. It also involve completing workshops with professionals in the industry and completing tasks within my own workplace. I was also encouraged to do my own individual learning (eg. podcasts, internal presentations, shadowing ect.).
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Loved the programme. The people delivering the sessions were engaging and enthusiastic.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes - I learned key skills such as negotiation, objection handling and other customer facing soft skills such as appropriate terminology and adapting to different customer personality types. I also learned key skills such as how to present to customers, summarising information and how to close calls with customers.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

My programme is very structured and has been broken down to us in a coherent manner meaning we always know what is coming up so we can time manage our commitments appropriately.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

From my employer (Computacenter), I receive a good amount of support, particularly from my team who I feel like I can always go to if required.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive lots of support from multiple people running the apprenticeship and feel I can reach out for support whenever I need it. They proactively reach out to me checking on us as a cohort and offer us support sessions which we can freely join as and when needed. They always give such nice feedback throughout the programme as well which gives me great confidence going forward.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I definitely think the qualification has and will help me perform better in my role. In addition to the key skills and information it has provided me that I know will yield me success, it also has supplied me with more confidence going forward stepping into my role as a solution specialist.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are a multitude of networking events (eg. Partner Connect, Charity balls, women in tech, partner awards ect). There isn't too much with regards to sport or other activities. There are lots of opportunities however to get involved in charity work which I think is wonderful.

Why?
I love Computacenter. I could not ask for a better first job. The people are friendly and supportive. The programme has being monumental in terms of my development in terms of looking to grow and develop professionally. The culture is also so fun and fantastic - always a great event to go to meeting amazing people along the way!
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Computacenter?
Just make sure that you do apply! There are so many types of roles available - just always remember to be yourself always. If you succeed on getting the role - you will enjoy it far more than you realise.
