Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
My role as an intern was to support my team daily in financial tasks. On a day to day basis the role that I had varied differently, but you will always be busy working on different tasks to support the team.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Honestly, the responsibility that I was given way way beyond my expectations. In my role the intern was extremely important to the team as if I didn't complete my tasks then no one else in my team could do theirs. This was a huge responsibility as the team were dependent on you and every task you completed came with pressure.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
I have developed my Microsoft Excel skills to a whole new level. I have had a huge insight to the industry which has developed both my personal and professional skills.
Additionally, new skills that I have learnt are using financial software like SAP and Workday.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
The support and guidance received was incredible. The great thing about this placement is that its not just your team that you have to support you but an incredible early careers team, HR and other teams around the company.
The culture of the company itself is to support its employees and you really do feel like you can find support in a huge amount of different people.

Company Culture
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Excellent. As an individual who likes to attend social events, the company really does put on a lot. Lots of social events where you can meet a variety of people within the company.
Additionally, I had the pleasure of going out with my immediate team a lot and also going out with a lot of interns.
Company culture as a whole is very inclusive and there will always be something for you to enjoy!

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
My placement was a huge success and I extremely enjoyed it. I feel that I have really developed so many skills and have seen how much I am capable of. I loved the sense of responsibility. I loved working in my team and felt really welcome. My expectations of the role and the company were surpassed within the first couple of weeks !

Be ready for a huge load of responsibility. This is not your stereotypical intern role and you will learn a huge amount whilst also having to work very hard.
Make sure to be extremely confident in your interviews and to research your role + the company.
Warner Bros.Discovery is a world renowned company so feel proud of yourself when working and remember that you deserve to be there even if times get tough.
