Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
In my role as a Time and Attendance Apprentice, I support the day-to-day administration of employee timecards and absences, with a particular focus on Belgium payroll processes. My daily tasks include reviewing and correcting timecards, entering and auditing absences such as illness, holiday, parental leave and unexcused absences, and responding to employee and manager queries via Answers tickets and email. I also assist with manual adjustment sheets, check compliance with local legislation and internal policies, and help ensure data accuracy ahead of payroll deadlines. Alongside this, I regularly communicate with HR, managers, and colleagues to clarify requirements, provide guidance on eTime, and maintain clear documentation and audit trails.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoy my programme as it gives me a good balance between learning and hands-on experience. I feel involved in meaningful work on a daily basis and have been able to develop my knowledge and confidence within Time and Attendance and HR processes. The role challenges me while also supporting my development as an apprentice, and I appreciate being trusted with responsibility. Overall, I find the programme rewarding and motivating, and I feel it has helped me grow both professionally and personally.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Through this programme, I have developed a range of new skills and strengthened existing ones. I have gained greater technical knowledge of eTime, payroll processes, and absence management, particularly in relation to Belgium legislation. I have also improved my attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and confidence when interpreting policies and resolving queries. In addition, my communication skills have grown through regular interactions with employees, managers, HR, and colleagues, allowing me to explain processes clearly and professionally. Overall, the programme has supported my ongoing development and helped me build skills that are directly relevant to my role and future career.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
I find the programme very well organised and structured. The combination of practical work, regular check-ins, and clear expectations makes it easy to stay on track and understand what I need to focus on. I always know what is expected of me, and the workload is manageable while still giving me opportunities to learn and take on new responsibilities. My apprenticeship feels well planned, and the structure has helped me build confidence and progress steadily in my role.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a high level of support from my employer. My manager and colleagues are always approachable and willing to help when I have questions or need guidance, and I feel comfortable asking for support when required. I am given regular feedback and clear direction, which helps me improve and develop within my role. I also feel trusted to take responsibility for my work while knowing support is available if needed. Overall, the support I receive has played a key role in my confidence and progression throughout the apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I receive good support from my training provider while working towards my qualification. They provide clear guidance on what is required, regular check-ins, and timely feedback on my progress and submissions. Any questions or concerns are addressed promptly, which helps me stay on track and feel supported throughout the apprenticeship. Overall, the support from my training provider has been helpful in managing my coursework alongside my role and understanding how my learning links to my job.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I feel that my qualification supports me well in performing my role more effectively. The knowledge and skills I gain through my training help me better understand HR and business processes, which I can apply directly to my day-to-day work in Time and Attendance. The qualification encourages me to reflect on my tasks, improve my working practices, and understand the reasoning behind processes and policies. Overall, it has helped strengthen my confidence, knowledge, and ability to carry out my role to a good standard.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are some opportunities to get involved in additional activities within my workplace, such as training sessions, internal initiatives, and knowledge‑sharing opportunities with colleagues. While my role is primarily focused on day‑to‑day operational tasks, I am encouraged to participate in learning opportunities that support my development, including internal training and professional discussions. These opportunities help me broaden my understanding of the business and develop skills beyond my core responsibilities.
