How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I get to learn about things that directly apply to my workplace such as Automation and learning how to program robots. I also get to learn about CNC machines and programming using different software such as CAD/CAM software. You are taught how to create a drawing and i can use this at work to gain deeper understanding of how the CNC machines function and it helps me learn how to create new programs to make new components
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes, there are lots of different groups or activities to get involved in. There is a WEN group (woman empowerment network) who do different things to get women networking with other people who work in different sectors of engineering and the office side of things. We also take part in EEEC activities (Every employee, every community). This is to get employees of Cummins to interact with members of the public and give back to their community. This could be working in a charity shop, paining benches, planting trees or helping high school students with mock interviews for jobs/ colleges and many more. Cummins also celebrates different cultures by having the diversity council host events throughout the year to educate people on different cultures and share different foods from around the world to get people talking.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Cummins to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Cummins is a good place to work. they provide support where it is needed to their employees and as an apprentice they ensure that everything runs smoothly for you in all aspects of work and with college. If you are struggling with the volume of work or understanding it, they can provide extra support if needed and can give you time out of the work week to catch up to ensure you stay on track for completing your apprenticeship.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Cummins?
I would say that if you are applying to Cummins its very important that you do research into the company and their products. They don't expect you to know a lot but its important that you can explain what the company does and at least have a foundation knowledge of the products they produce.
